Thank you to all who supported our cycle on June 22nd 2019. We had a good turnout of cyclists, marshals and helpers for registration and food stops. We'll add some photos from the event here shortly.
After leaving the Showgrounds the we head for Clonakilty Bay and onto Inchydoney Island. Across two causeways and up the first gentle climb to Ardfield before descending for the Red Strand. On past the Galley Head, Long Strand and Owenahincha to Rosscarbery where we turn right off the N71 and head inland for a while. We follow some back roads for a while as we loop back towrds outskirts Clonakilty. At Clonakilty the short course heads back to the Showgrounds while the long course heads for Shannonvale and Ballinascarthy for the main food stop.
After leaving Ballinascarthy we head for Clogagh and on to Inchy Bridge and towards Kilbrittain where we meet the sea again just west along the coast from the Old Head of Kinsale. From there we take the coast road to Timoleague and Courtmacsherry and onwards through Butlerstown to Dunworley and South Ring where we meet Clonakilty Bay again.
From there it's a 6km flat ride back to the Showgrounds in Clonakilty.

We could like to acknowledge the advice assistance and encouragement given to us by all involved in the Clonakilty Charity Cycle which was run for various charities over the last seven years. They also provided us with signs and equipment, enabling us to keep our costs to a minumim.
We could also like to acknowledge the assistance given to us by the Clonakilty Agricultural Show Society in the form of facilities and volunteers.
